📦 Cobblemon v1.7.1
Updated April 2026
Cobblemon evolution is player-controlled Unlike the mainline games, Cobblemon doesn't evolve your Pokémon automatically when conditions are met. You choose when to evolve. This means you can delay evolution to learn moves the pre-evolution gets earlier — a key mechanic for competitive players.

Evolution Methods Overview

Cobblemon supports all the major evolution methods from the mainline Pokémon games. Here's a quick overview before the full database below.

⬆️
Level Up
Reach a specific level. Most common method — just battle and gain experience.
💎
Evolution Stone
Use a specific stone item on the Pokémon. No level required — works at any time.
🔄
Trade
Trade the Pokémon to another player. Some require a held item during the trade.
💛
Friendship
Max out your friendship with the Pokémon, then level up or use a specific item.
🌙
Time of Day
Level up during the day or night in Minecraft. Matches in-game time, not real time.
🎒
Held Item
Level up while holding a specific item. The item is usually consumed on evolution.
📍
Location
Level up in a specific biome or location type — near water, in a cave, etc.
🎲
Special
Unique conditions — knowing a specific move, high stats, or other custom requirements.

💡
Where to find evolution stones Stones generate as ore veins underground — look for coloured ore blocks at Y-level 20–50. Fire Stones near lava, Ice Stones in frozen biomes, Thunder Stones near exposed cliff faces. They also drop from wild Pokémon that use them — Vulpix can drop Fire Stones, Pikachu drops Thunder Stones.
