Quick Answer

🌲 Forest Routes 🌼 Flower Biomes 🍄 Dark Woodland 36 Grass Types Total

Grass types are one of the most biome-sensitive groups in Cobblemon. If you want quick early catches, start in forests, meadows and flower-heavy routes during the day. If you want the stranger grass lines, move into dark forest, swamp edges, mushroom terrain and jungle canopies. Open green routes give you the basic plant lines fast, but the more interesting mixed-type grass Pokémon tend to live in more specific, more overgrown areas.

How Grass Type Spawning Works

Grass types are less about standing in one exact patch of leaves and more about how lush the surrounding biome actually is. A plain forest, a flower forest, a swamp edge, a jungle riverbank and a mushroom-heavy dark forest can all count as valid grass hunting ground, but they produce very different Pokémon pools.

Daytime is strongest for most of the basic grass lines. That is when you find meadow and forest catches like Sunkern, Hoppip, Chikorita, Roselia and Petilil more comfortably. Night shifts the pool toward stranger, moodier grass hybrids such as Foongus, Morelull, Phantump and Oddish. Jungle and overgrown routes sit in the middle — they stay useful all day, but the exact species change with biome density.

The efficient way to farm grass types is to chain biomes together. Run standard forest into flower forest, then into swamp edge or a darker woodland patch. That gives you common plants, status-heavy poison/grass lines and the harder mushroom or ghost-grass lines all in one route.

🌿
Grass hunts are really "lush biome" hunts If a route looks flat and dry, the pool usually stays weak. The denser, greener and more overgrown the area gets, the more interesting the grass spawns become.

Best Biomes for Grass Type Hunting

🌲
Forest, Meadow & Flower Forest
Best all-round starting route

This is the best first stop if you just want to fill your box with grass types quickly. Forest and meadow routes cover easy daytime catches, while flower forests upgrade the pool with Roselia, Budew, Petilil and other more specialized plant lines. If you are starting from scratch, this is the most efficient broad grass route in the game.

🍄
Dark Forest, Mushroom Fields & Swamp Edge
Night-heavy mixed typing pool

Once you move into darker woodland and mushroom-heavy terrain, the grass pool gets much more interesting. Foongus, Morelull, Paras, Phantump and Amoonguss all make more sense here than they do in clean open meadows. These biomes are ideal if you want grass types with poison, fairy, bug or ghost secondary typing instead of just pure grass lines.

🌴
Jungle Routes & Overgrown Riverbanks
Starter lines and stronger late catches

Jungle routes are where the pool starts feeling bigger and more advanced. Treecko, Tangela, Exeggcute, Lurantis and higher-end grass encounters fit this kind of terrain better than a standard meadow does. If you are building toward a stronger team rather than just catching whatever appears, jungle and lush river routes are worth routing in on purpose.

💡
Flower Forest is the easiest high-value grass biome It gives you a better pool than plain forest without forcing you into awkward terrain like swamp or dense jungle. If you only have one biome to hunt, make it a flower-heavy one.
